Engineering Support for Foundation Design
Foundation Technologies provides technical support, design tools, and training to help engineers develop safe, code-compliant foundation systems. Our team supports every stage — from early feasibility studies to product selection, engineering education, and jobsite implementation — without replacing or competing with your engineering role.
We support projects including:
- Substation and transformer pad foundations
- Solar Farm foundations (commercial and utility-scale)
- DOT and public works projects requiring helical piles or anchors
- Utility structure foundations (pipe supports, equipment pads)
- Swimming pool foundations and remedial stabilization
- Retaining wall foundations
- Helical tiebacks for seawalls, bulkheads, and marine retaining structures
- Boardwalk, pier, and other marine foundation systems
- Elevated slab and crawlspace foundations for new structures
- Light pole, signage, and traffic signal foundations
- Telecom and small cell tower foundations
- Retrofit and underpinning of existing foundation systems
You can ask us for help with:
- Training for engineers on helical systems, design tools, and installation principles
- Product selection and sizing
- Load calculations and bearing capacity
- Design software usage (including HeliCAP®)
- Budget Development and Bid Assistance
- Documentation and Submittal Development
- Value Engineering
- Site-specific recommendations
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you help evaluate if helical piles are a good fit for my project?
Yes. Our team can help you assess whether helical foundations are the best solution for your project, based on soil conditions, load requirements, site constraints, and schedule demands. We often assist engineers in presenting helicals as a value-engineered solution when they offer cost, access, or time advantages.
Do you offer training for engineers?
Yes. We provide training sessions on helical pile design, HeliCAP® software, load paths, installation guidelines, and real-world jobsite applications. Whether you’re new to helicals or expanding into new markets, our team can help bring you up to speed.
Do you help with value engineering?
Absolutely. We support engineers looking to reduce material costs, simplify installation, or avoid delays by using helical systems where appropriate. We can provide technical data and configuration options to support alternative foundation approaches.
Can you help me select the right helical pile or anchor?
Yes. Based on your site’s geotechnical data and loading needs, we’ll recommend appropriate pile sizes, shaft types, lead sections, and extensions. We also assist with HeliCAP® inputs to ensure the design aligns with expected capacity.
Do you support new construction or just retrofits?
Both. We’re involved in new foundation designs for solar farms, substations, and light poles — as well as remedial work like underpinning, pool stabilization, and retaining wall tiebacks.
Can you help me with HeliCAP® design software?
Yes. We regularly assist engineers with HeliCAP® setup, input review, and troubleshooting. We also offer training for newer users or teams evaluating multiple pile options.
Do you provide stamped drawings or sealed foundation plans?
No. We do not provide stamped or sealed documents. Our role is to support the engineer of record — not to replace them. We provide load data, software assistance, and design support throughout the process.
How do I request support?
Use our Ask an Engineer form to send site details, design needs, or technical questions. A member of our engineering support team will follow up quickly.
