Sonitec® CSL Tube Testing Pipe
Why Sonitec? A global track record of success
Sonitec is the only steel pipe system specifically designed and manufactured for Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL) concrete testing. Since 1999, over 50 million feet of Sonitec CSL tubes have been used on over 400 projects around the world. The Sonitec sonic logging pipe, with its unique "Push-Fit" design is a cost-effective solution and weighs less than a third of the weight of traditional schedule 40 material which reduces the manpower needed for installation. The lightweight nature of the Sonitec tubes is also safer with no heavy lifting required. Both Domestic and Import Sonitec tubes are available and ready to ship where you need it when you need it, and are compliant with ASTM D6760.
Foundation Technologies is proud to partner with Dextra America to offer Sonitec CSL tubes. The CSL method has been used for more than 30 years and is the most requested method for foundation integrity testing by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and professionals throughout the construction industry.

The Crosshole Sonic Logging Method
CSL tests determine the structural integrity and consistency of concrete within diaphragm walls, bored piles, drilled shafts, barrettes, concrete piles, and augercast piles. CSL uses sound waves to measure the propagation time and the balance of energy between two parallel water-filled tubes installed at specific spaces within the foundation element during construction. An ultrasonic transmitter and receiver are lowered and lifted in unison within the tubes to test the concrete between the tubes from top to bottom. This process will show you the extent, depth, and approximate location of damage within the the drilled pile or shaft.
